MANAGING ACTION PATHS IS NOT THE SAME AS MANAGING INFORMATION.

Reality is self in action through a landscape of obstacles and events which can be physical or meta-physical (conceptual, analytical, problematic).

An action path is practical or pragmatic, not algorithmic. We turn a corner, or go though a door, or stop to study an object in a window because it is not supposed to be there. Like the moth to the flame, we gravitate to the new, the unpredicted, the surprising, and the different. We take the path less traveled, the path with heart. The winning path is always ad hoc. If history tells us anything, it is that history itself is ad hoc, change is ad hoc, innovation is ad hoc, great social and religious movements are ad hoc. Everything that is great has always come out of nowhere, precisely because the universe is so large and unpredictable.

That which can be repeated can be predicted over the short run, but high level management of that which can be repeated requires the ability to anticipate and manage that which cannot be predicted, that which is variable, and that which is new, surprising, and different.

We no longer live in The Information Age. The Information Age has been run into the ground. It is dead.

What we have here is a Failure of Information. What we need is a philosophy of action. But, action towards what and why? That's what all the conflict is about.

Technology has become burdened by information like snow on trees. Crack. Crack. The branches fall. The time for information trees is over. Technology is an aid to action. Let's go in that direction. Information is secondary to action. The winners prove that every day to the surprised losers.

The MasterList is an aid to action, draped with information, like light summer clothing to allow movement, not bury it.
